Maria was born with a relentless curiosity and an ever-growing creativity. For her, style goes beyond trends; a stylish woman is the one who finds a language through fashion, someone capable of creating and transforming her own reality using her wits and clothes as fundamental tools. In that way, Maria’s style is very intuitive, she likes wearing pieces that not only suit her, but that open up a question about the woman behind the clothes. She is never afraid to be audacious in the way she presents herself to the world; her self-awareness goes beyond vanity, for she knows she can speak through her style. Maria draws inspiration from the beauty that furthers the obvious, and that’s when her Art education comes into scene. All her visions of life and love are forever tainted with the thoughts of the great writers, artists, and icons that she draws wisdom from. She doesn’t see a dividing line between the different aspects of culture and knowledge: Art, Cinema, Philosophy, Fashion, Poetry, Music, Photography… they are only different parts of the same body, and for her, one does not exist without the others. Her muses speak softly to her ear; Diana Vreeland, Carine Roitfeld, Luella Bartley, Chloe Sevigny, the Mulleavy sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Sofia Coppola, Tracy Emin, Louis Bourgoise, Sophie Calle, Anna Karina, Simone de Beauvoir, Miuccia Prada, Sylvia Plath, Marta Traba, Charlotte Ramplin, Camille Paglia, Franca Sozzani, Fiona Apple… Whatever moves her becomes an obsession. She tries to find the DNA of things that make her creativity unravel. Not only her sources of inspiration are infinite, also her ambition is. She believes the future pulls her present forward. What is yet to come is what gives sense to her doings today. Soon enough, she’s been told, she will be directing her own Culture and Fashion Magazine, head to head with the big names of the industry she once saw blinded by the limelight.
